Here at TYTAN we are always looking for new and exciting ways to produce high quality films be it a 30 second commercial for Hubbell Power Systems or a 4 minute short film for Nike. That’s the main reason our Director/DP, Brad Kremer, decided to become a certified Phantom Flex technician. The Phantom Flex is a highly specialized camera that shoots frame rates as high as 2,564 fps at 1080p. We have used the Flex for a for a number of clients. And it’s always a hit when the client sees the result!
So what do you when you have a day off and a $300k camera package sitting at your house? Our Director/DP, Brad Kremer, invited all of the neighborhood kids and threw a water balloon party of course! Duh!

Shot with a Phantom Flex it captures the magic of the moment. With frame rates of up to 2564 fps at 1080p we see every detail, every smile and every sparkle in the kids eyes. Nike asked TYTAN’s Director, Brad Kremer, to team up with Joe Carlino and Justin Hostynek, to create three short Nike Snowboarding films. The production team at TYTAN was excited for the opportunity to work with Nike again and to create various design elements to complement the film. Our portion will feature Sage Kotsenburg, Louie Vito, Gjermund Braaten, Jamie Nicholls, Danny Kass, Ethan Morgan, Jan Scherrer, Peetu Piiroinen and Austin Smith.

The team at TYTAN had the honor to film a true inspiration to the game of golf – and to anyone who has their own hurdles in life to overcome! Using a technically superior, high-speed Phantom Flex camera, our film crew catches professional PGA golfer and double amputee, Don Vickery, in action at the Wilmington Island Golf Course. Mr. Vickery, who lost both of his legs in an explosion while taking a walk on the property of Fort Gordon several years ago, regained his ability to walk thanks to Roy Rice of Augusta Orthotics and Prosthetics, who provided him with his prosthetic legs. Mr. Vickery is the only double amputee Professional Golfer to be named to the PGA membership. Mr. Vickery is the #1 Golfer in the World with his type of disability. Under the creative direction of TYTAN’S Executive Producer, Jim Stone; Creative Director/Writer, Scott Jacobs and Director/DP, Brad Kremer, the team was able to capture Mr. Vickery doing what he truly loves to do…play golf. The Phantom Flex camera’s capabilities will allow TYTAN to produce cutting-edge footage that can showcase Mr. Vickery’s talent in super slow motion. The final cut is sure to be amazing, and a great addition to TYTAN’S collection of national quality sports films! This film was made by Tytan for the 2011 48 Hour Film Festival.
13 teams met and drew genres. Our team’s first pick was fantasy. We had the option to choose a “wild card”. Our wild card genre was SILENT FILM. We were happy with this choice and decided it would be a lot of fun to try and come up with an interesting way to tell a story without dialogue.
We had a great time making the movie over the weekend and although it was stressful and sleepless we were proud of what our team created. One of the only setbacks was the ill timed lightning storm here on Tybee Island during the final hours of the edit. Our power went off three times during the final render of a key shot in the film. And so, because of this storm we finished our film 30 minutes late. There were several other crews in the same situation as us. But it is not called the 48.5 hour film festival. Regardless of the lightning storm everyone had a great time together and we made an awesome film! We hope you enjoy it.
