News: June of 2005, Ray Jacobs was inducted into Promax/BDA International’s Hall of Fame. Promax/BDA is the largest international organization concentrated on entertainment and news promotion and advertising in the world.

1962‐1971 Various Creative Posts

Jacobs held top creative posts at eight national and local consumer‐advertising agencies, and worked on packaged goods, automotive, electronics, aerospace, and real estate accounts among others. Creating the Lake Arrowhead campaign for Boise Cascade in Los Angeles earned him 23 creative awards in 1970. Jacobs became a partner of the pioneering entertainment and marketing firm, Klein & in 1970, and created numerous campaigns for Westinghouse Broadcasting Inc, radio stations in 15 markets, and Post Newsweek Broadcasting. In 1971, Jacobs introduced the first “Kiis” radio station in Los Angeles. The outdoor design, “Kiis at 1150 AM every day”, was placed in the Smithsonian Institution’s Outdoor Hall Of Fame as noted above. Mr. Jacobs also worked on the first competitive consumer ad campaign in the United States, Renault Dauphine automobiles (1967), and as a result, won the Sweepstakes award from the American Advertising Federation. He was responsible for several fast food campaigns for “Chicken Delight”, a pioneering fast food account, as well as serving as the youngest senior art director responsible for establishing and maintaining the TRW Systems brand. 1973‐1993 Co‐founder, Jacobs & Gerber, Inc., Los Angeles

Jacobs & Gerber Advertising, Inc. became most successful full service ad agency in America specializing in entertainment, and news. Over the next two decades, Ray was responsible for launching shows into syndication such as Paramount’s “StarTrek: TNG”, “Deep Space Nine”, “The Arsenio Hall Show”, “Hard Copy”, “ The Maury Povich Show”, “The Leeza Show”, “The Untouchables”, “Murphy Brown”, “Evening Shade”, “Major Dad”, “Wise Guy” and others. The agency also created trade campaigns for Paramount Television, and Paramount International Television. Jacobs also designed the advertising for CBS News, and was instrumental in creating the graphic theme for The CBS Evening News with Dan Rather. Campaigns and advertising were also created for 60 Minutes, 48 Hours, and The CBS Morning Show and the launch of West 57th.

1993‐1995 Founder, Jacobs Creative, Inc., Los Angeles

After leaving Jacobs & Gerber, Jacobs created a boutique creative agency specializing in print, live action and animation design, and worked on numerous creative projects for Buena Vista Television, Warner Bros. TV, Columbia Television, as well as creating the music for EXTRA with composer Peter Fish in NY.

1995‐2000 Co‐founder/Executive Creative Director, Friedland Jacobs

Communications, Inc., Burbank, CA Jacobs combined forces with Imagine One Productions, and Friedland Jacobs Communications, Inc. was created to become a full service entertainment, news, and internet agency. FJC launched over 30 shows into television syndication, including Friends, Hollywood Squares, Rosy, Roseanne, Home Improvement, Access Hollywood, Judge Judy, Judge Joe, The Practice, NYPD Blue, as well as creating campaigns for NBC News (AOR), iVillage.com, Hollywood.com, Business.com, Warner Bros. Online, Entertaindom.com, NetSmart.com (Citibank). Winning over 100 awards for its creative, FJC became a nationally recognized agency within five years.

2000‐2001 Sr. VP/Creative, Rare Brand Solutions, (Rare Medium)

Friedland Jacobs Communications, Inc. was purchased by Rare Medium Group, and became the branding arm of Rare, creating campaigns for Nestle’s, Paramount Domestic TV, Warner Bros. TV, 20th Century Television, Columbia TV, MGM Television, as well as several high profile internet sites, including iVillage.com, Hollywood.com, and Warner Bros. Online. 2001 Creative Consultant, Pop Stars2, Stone Stanley Entertainment, LA Jacobs’ responsibilities for the syndicated hit television show, Pop Stars2, included naming of the band, creation of the band logo, album jewel box design, CD Rom creative coordination, working with WetSeal clothing to outfit the band, as well as the creation of a clothing line, coordinating the graphic look for the Pop Stars2 concert, as well as the Pop Stars2 Experience, and media training for the band members.

Miscellaneous

Ray is an accomplished musician, having performed in a symphony orchestra at the age of 13 for five years and is proficient on 8 instruments. A published poet, photographer, cartoonist, as well as painter, he also writes science fiction poetry and was recently published in the Sound of Poetry CD, as well as winning a Silver Media and an Editor’s Choice Award in the International Federation of Poets competition.

Jacobs resides in La Quinta, CA, with his wife, Sylvia, married 47 years in January of 2009. He is the father of two sons, and three grandchildren.
